using dGPU?

pls check when PSU plugged in (boot, game etc) && check when PSU IS NOT plugged in (boot without, game without etc)

PC: R7 2700X @PBO + RX 580 4G (1500MHz/2000MHz CL16) + 32G DDR4-3200CL14 + 144hz 1ms FS P + 75hz 1ms FS
Laptop: R5 2500U @30W + RX 560X (1400MHz/1500MHz) + 16G DDR4-2400CL16 + 120Hz 3ms FS

Without psu its on balanced power and fps is trash, I did try to set that to high performance which does the thing I was talking about, but drains battery fast, same as with plugged in. I was monitoring with MSI afterburner the usage of gpus, somehow it shows 6 of them which I understand as 1-5 is rx 550 and 6th is r7, cpu is used about 40-60 % but gpu 100% on ultra, and less on lower settings, the framerate is not changing. As I was looking at specs of rx 550 laptop version has boost, I tried to apply it on afterburner, but same performance. Ive looked everywhere, searched internet for hours, cant find the solution. Reinstalled drivers. Still the same thing, even changing resolution its on the same fps.

step 0. charge your Laptop full

1. UNPLUG your Laptop from Power
2. boot into windows
3. set to performance mode - no GPU or CPU power-savings4. run games and test

ps a RX550 isnt that strong - so in newer titles stick to 720p with low/lowest settings // there are other tricks to improve framerates - but they usually mean it will look bad

now test again after booting with Laptop is plugged in
again in performance - with no CPU or GPU powersavings

DONT OC your Laptop GPU - you CAN (and most-likely will) damage it - especially if you dont know what you are doing etc

pls show me the laptop model you have

hello. havent been on for a long time. sorry for so late reply. I do have latest BIOS. I can deffo tell that rx550 is used and its set to high perfomance in radeon settings. still facing the same issue. without charger the fps is low. when plugged in i have set all power savers off. maximised perfomance everywhere I could. even windows itself for performance.

+ on PUBG while playing framerate is about 30+, you can clearly see it, sometimes screen quickly flashes black for milisecond and it looks like im plaing at locked 20ish framerate, but fps displayed at 30+. I have to lower the game and pop it back up, then it disappears and it happens quite often

Hy, I have the same laptop model, the RX 550 and the FX-9830p but with 8 GB.

Did you find any solution?

are you sure it uses the dGPU and not integrated?
you should be able to switch that

here a pro-tipp:
charge your battery full (while power-off) - UNPLUG charger - BOOT - test if game runs more fluent
if it does: plug in charger and see if it reduces framerate

some OEMs have that error - i have it too with my Acer V5 552G
