I need usb3 drivers for my Ryzen 7 gen3 processor, the motherboard is a 470x. I need win7 due to software and security reasons. By the way win7 is still over 50% of the market.
Actually Windows 7 is currently less than 25% of the marketshare and a lot of those are in companies running dedicated software that controls equipment. Browser stats are showing it really shrinking as an OS for cruising the net. That is good as at this point it has not had security updates for nearly 11 months as it is fully NOT SUPPORTED anymore. So I can't image why you would need it fore security reasons, but I know lots niche reasons to stay on an old system exist.
These are current usage stats:
Windows 10 | 57.85% | |
Windows 7 | 24.79% | |
Mac OS X 10.15 | 4.18% | |
Windows 8.1 | 3.11% | |
Mac OS X 10.14 | 2.50% | |
Mac OS X 10.13 | 1.40% | |
Linux | 1.28% | |
Windows XP | 1.15% | |
Ubuntu | 1.04% | |
Mac OS X 10.12 | 0.59% |
Your chipset driver will install any usb drivers needed that are controlled by the chipset. If it isn't installing a USB 3 driver it may not support it in Windows 7 or USB 3 may be disabled in the bios so check that. If your board supports additional ports by another controller you need to go to your MB manufacturers site and download those drivers.
If that doesn't help just reach out to the support department for your motherboard and they should be able to easily help you.
