I have a brand new AMD Ryzen 5800X and Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master with the latest AMD chipset drivers and BIOS installed.
I have a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB boot drive, Samsung 860 QVO 2TB secondary drive, and a blank ADATA SU800 that I want to use as a cache for a Seagate 10TB HDD that is also in the system. This worked fine with my old 4770K Intel system via RST.
Every time I try to install the StoreMI software I get a message about installation failed, rolling back the changes, and then the final message is StoreMI Installation Failed. Error Code: 01.
I have read various forum posts of people having similar issues at that they resolved it by cleaning their SSD. I have used DISKPART to clean the drive completely, zeroing out the drive, and still no change.
I have also disabled antivirus during the install just in case that is affecting it.
Looking at the log file I can see the following:
MSI (s) (E4:60) [19:27:06:151]: Note: 1: 1707 MSI (s) (E4:60) [19:27:06:151]: Product: AMD StoreMI -- Installation operation completed successfully.
searching for "error" or "failed" in the log file yields no results.
I can upload the full log file if requested. I don't see an option to do it whilst typing this post.
Any help would be appreciated.
I found the following in the AMD_StoreMI_UI.txt log file located under C:\AMD\StoreMI\Logs:

Looks like a NVMe driver issue. Any ideas?
Are you getting error code 01 or -1? I've been getting the latter trying to install the new storemi. The previous version was working for me at one point. AMD's support personnel have been very unhelpful regarding the problem.
I have the same error -1 code
and I have no idea to fix it.
Not sure if this related. But do you have an Optical Disk drive (ODD) attach to SATA?
I successfully installed the software by using msconfig to turn off all the non-microsft services and all startup items. I've verified optical drive is working. Hopefully this works for you guys, too.
clean install or disabling non MS services gives me the same error. I still think it is NVMe related. Does anyone else see the same NVMe driver error I see in their logs?
Anyway I have found an alternative solution; using a trial version of PrimoCache 4.1 and it seems to be working well. I might end up buying/using it instead of waiting for AMD to fix up their sh...
disconnect the internet first before clean install windows.
then install AMD chipset > reboot > install StoreMI
If I leave it connect to the internet. It will pull the driver from windows update and make it error -1
I managed to solve the problem with the error code -1 by running the installation with administrator rights, even though I am already a system administrator. Previously, I also disabled services and autorun, I also tried installing from safe mode, nothing helped, and running as an administrator solved this problem with rolling back the installation.
