Major FPS lag and stuttering after installing Radeon RX 580 GPU (from NVIDIA GPU)

Hello. I'm experiencing major performance issues with an AMD GPU that i recently installed after my 10+ year old Gigabyte Gtx 1070 died. I uninstalled the nvidia drivers and used DDU to thoroughly clear them out to install the new AMD drivers but i am still getting severe fps lag as shown by the benchmark screenshot while using Furmark, where it capped at 16 fps and did not go any higher. I'm unsure what the underlying issue is. Specs are provided and i know i should clarify this here since other folks who made posts about similar issues didn't do this but my display port cable IS connected directly to my GPU not the display port outlet on my motherboard. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Is it only furmark that has this issue or did you also try playing games and had the same happen (poor performance)? Also, which version of the driver you have currently?

It sounds like you’ve taken the right initial steps with DDU and driver installation. However, if you're still facing severe lag, here are a few quick checks that might help:

1. **Power Settings**: Make sure the power settings in your AMD software are set to performance mode, not balanced or power saving.
2. **Check GPU Temps**: High temps can cause the GPU to throttle, so monitor temps during use with software like MSI Afterburner.
3. **BIOS Update**: Sometimes, an outdated motherboard BIOS can limit new hardware performance. Check for any updates.
4. **Reinstall AMD Software**: If the driver installation had any issues, a fresh reinstall might help.
5. **PSU Check**: Ensure your power supply is delivering enough power, as AMD GPUs can be power-hungry.
