Powering Discoveries
Scientists, researchers, and academics recognize that the right acceleration tools make the difference in how and when discoveries are made. At AMD, we’re committed to engineering the best products and tools to make that happen—and the new AMD Instinct™ Education & Research (AIER) initiative makes those innovations easy to access. If you’re looking for ways to solve big challenges, make discoveries, analyze more data, or make better decisions faster, taking part in the AIER Initiative can give you access to the resources you need to get the job done.
Delivering the right tools for the job
Many of the greatest problems we face require world-class high-performance computing (HPC) solutions. Through the AIER Initiative, developers can access and use the best tools for the job, including the world’s fastest HPC GPU and the ROCm™ open software platform. and the ROCm™ open software platform.
AMD Instinct™ MI100 Accelerators
AMD Instinct™ MI100 Accelerators are engineered from the ground up to supercharge HPC and AI workloads and propel new discoveries. These sophisticated accelerators offer the world’s fastest HPC GPU, delivering a nearly 3.5x the boost for HPC (FP32 Matrix) and a nearly 7x boost for AI (FP16) throughput compared to prior generation AMD accelerators. The AIER Initiative is designed to help academics, researchers, and scientists in gaining access to accelerated solutions by minimizing the costs of those systems and allowing them to more easily gain access to accelerated servers solutions enabling them to work large models and enhance memory-bound operation performance for whatever combination of HPC and machine learning workloads you need to deploy.
ROCm™ Open Software Platform
The AMD ROCm™ open software platform makes it easy to write your software once and run it on any platform to deliver power to your HPC, AI & ML workloads. This open development platform takes a “Code once and run everywhere” approach that supports multiple vendors and architectures, and provides drivers, compilers, and libraries whose algorithms are continuously improved in software (not codified in hardware) for greater access and portability.
Join The AMD AIER Initiative and Tap into AMD Innovation
If you are an academic, researcher, or scientist working at a higher education university, institution or a nonprofit, consider joining the AMD AIER Initiative. In addition to AMD accelerator and software technology, you’ll also gain access to development resources, the AMD ROCm™ Learning Center, and technical guidance on AMD hardware and software solutions.
Simply fill out the AIER Customer Information Form and one of our AMD Instinct™ Education and Research initiative team members will review your information form and contact you by email or phone, which ever you prefer, to discuss the initiative and your participation goals.
