When using the Blender command line to render an image or animation the Samples Per View Update setting was useful to prevent the command line outputting 1/1000, 2/1000, 3/1000 for every iteration. Similarly when rendering to screen an "update" every 25 iterations was a reasonable setting to use to speed up the rendering.
This setting does not appear to do anything at all anymore.

Should be fixed with 8/31 release.
I see that. There was a setting removed in the core renderer we were using for that and need to do it another way. Already fixed, we'll get a bug fix build out asap.
