I just installed prorender on a mac pro with a GTX 1070 (web drivers installed). The Metal render crashes immediately using a simple default box, light and camera. Is there any known issues rendering with Metal on a GTX 1070?

Ok. Sorry, but that's an unsupported configuration. See here: https://pro.radeon.com/en/software/prorender/blender/
Unfortunately we don't have the ability to support everything, and as that is somewhat outdated on macOS, we have not tested it.
Only AMD hardware has been tested under Metal, are you running this through an eGPU? There is no current mac hardware with NV graphics cards.
No, I have it installed via pcie in a Mac Pro.
I do suspect, however, that the second gfx card I have installed is the culprit. I have an old gt 120 installed as well, which metal doesnt work with. It’s possible prorender is trying to use it as well as the 1070, causing the crash. I’ll pull the card and test it tonight.

Ok gotcha. Thanks for looking into it. If I get any successful results from this configuration I’ll post it here.
