Blender 2.93 LTS closes when trying to render with my NVIDIA GTX970

Hi,

when I try to render an image (f.e. the standard cube when opening Blender) with my gpu (NVIDIA GTX970), Blender closes itself. When I render it with my other gpu (AMD Radeon rx580), this issue doesn't occur and everything works just fine. It also works fine when using my cpu or another rendering engine.

But everytime I activate the GTX970 in Radeon ProRender, Blender closes itself. The GTX970 only has 4GB of video memory, but that shouldn't be an issue, as the scene I'm trying to render is very small.

When I delete the cube and only have an empty scene with just a lightsource and a camera, it renders just fine.

Does anyone know, what could cause this issue?

System:

Windows 11 (with newest drivers)

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x

RAM: 16GB DDR4

GPU1: AMD Radeon RX580 (8GB)

GPU2: NVIDIA GTX970 (4GB)

Hi,

did you fix the problem? I have the same problem.

No, sadly not. I'm now using LuxRender, as it also creates great results and works with both of my GPUs as well as my CPU.

Tho I would happily change back to proRender, if the issue gets resolved, for now, this is the best solution I have.

Do you have any new infos in the topic? I would be happy to know if you find a solution for it 🙂
