How to make the NPU work

I am currently using a laptop with AMD Ryzen AI support, when I first bought the laptop, the NPU feature was not there, after I installed the NPU driver, the NPU feature was successfully visible in the task manager, I have also successfully installed the conda environment for AMD Ryzen AI activation. The problem now is, that the NPU feature is always at 0%, in other words, this feature does not work. I have tried using several AI tools, such as AI in Capcut, AI to get images, and several other common AI tools, but the NPU feature still does not work. Please explain my problem!

The built in application may not using NPU. You can try running a model on NPU directly from Ryzen AI SW 1.2 (for example ResNet example from Ryzen AI 1.2) that should use NPU if properly executed.

I’m experiencing the exact issue with my Ryzen laptop as well! I’ve installed the NPU drivers and set up the conda environment, but I’m still seeing 0% utilization in Task Manager. I’ve tried testing it with CapCut’s AI features and other AI tools, but no luck so far. Hopefully, someone here has a solution or tips on how to activate the NPU feature fully—any insights would be appreciated!

Not all AI software is optimized to use the NPU, even if they use AI features. Check if the tools you’re using, like CapCut or other image generation tools, are actually designed to leverage hardware NPUs or if they default to using the CPU/GPU.
