Sampling error while rendering animation

Jump to solution

Hello there. I'm gonna try the forums for this issue.

I was rendering a simple animation in 3ds max. Some cubes rotating and camera too. Every frame took about 15 second to render almost noise free. But there were some frames where the noise level was just too high, it wasn't all the same:

frame after

Heres the scene and also the frames where occurs this are:

frame 31

frame 63

frame 88

frame 95

Use the pass limit, instead of Time limit to get a more consistent result.

If the renderer slows down during the 5 seconds you get less samples as you render.

To get this fixed faster, can you attach the scene?  Also note which frames have an issue.  Also note hardware used.

How to make the most of this forum!

Done, scene attached and frames numbered.

Great answer!  Thanks.  Just for others:

Time limit render = more consistent render time

Sample pass limit = more consistent noise.
