AMD recently released the AMD Radeon™ R9 Fury X GPU, the most advanced and innovative GPU ever created for the enthusiast market. Using a revolutionary new stacked configuration of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), the Radeon R9 Fury X graphics card represents a paradigm shift in GPU design in the chip previously codenamed “Fiji.”  The Radeon R9 Fury X GPU launched a couple of weeks ago and has achieved strong reviews and astonishing demand.

Now comes the Fury -- the AMD Radeon™ R9 Fury GPU to be exact. The air-cooled Radeon R9 Fury GPU will be available starting Tuesday, July 14th from select add-in card suppliers, and will include the ASUS Strix Radeon™ R9 Fury and the Sapphire Tri-X Radeon™ R9 Fury graphics cards.

The AMD Radeon R9 Fury X and Radeon R9 Fury GPUs share many similar features and capabilities, starting with the revolutionary High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) which is engineered to deliver extreme bandwidth and performance for unbelievably “real” 4K and VR gaming experiences. Co-developed by AMD with industry partners, this is truly a marvel of engineering, delivering more than 3x the bandwidth per watt than GDDR5 along with a 4096-bit memory interface for incredible new advances in power and efficiency – the most innovative “total solution” GPU available today. The Radeon R9 Fury GPU delivers 60% more memory bandwidth over GDDR5 powering extreme performance and bleeding-edge technology - a true GPU paradigm shift – for achieving high-frame rates and smooth gameplay.

The AMD Radeon™ R9 Fury GPU joins our new generation of powerful Radeon R9 Series graphics cards ready for high resolution gaming today as well as the DirectX® 12 games of tomorrow:

*Discrete AMD Radeon™ and FirePro™ GPUs based on the Graphics Core Next architecture consist of multiple discrete execution engines known as a Compute Unit (“CU”). Each CU contains 64 shaders (“Stream Processors”) working in unison.

The AMD Radeon R9 Fury GPU, like others within the AMD Radeon™ R9 300 family, is built on AMD’s GCN Architecture for unified graphics processing and computing, allowing it to achieve higher utilization, enabling improved performance and efficiency. This results in higher frame rates in the latest games at high resolutions and at the highest settings. In fact, the AMD Radeon™ R9 Fury GPU supports Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) that automatically re-renders games at higher resolutions (up to 4K) and then dynamically rescales them for HD displays at higher quality and details.

What’s more, the AMD Radeon R9 Fury GPU is architected for immersive virtual reality gaming, enabling liquid-smooth images with high frame rates and low latencies for a smoother and a more comfortable VR experience thanks to AMD LiquidVR™ technology.

This is to whet your appetite as there’s a lot more to the AMD Radeon R9 Fury GPU! Whether you’re looking to experience a different reality through virtual worlds, be ready to play a next generation DirectX® 12 game or play your favorite current game in 4K resolution at ultra-settings, the AMD Radeon R9 Fury GPU is ready to rock your world.
