Ryzen 75800X low clock speed

Hey there,

I noticed that my pc was suddenly running at extremely slow speeds and I think it's because the CPU is running at just 0.49 GHz. Usually it should run at 3.80 GHz. The day before everything was fine but suddenly my PC got really slow. Do you have any idea on how I could increase the clock speed again? I already tried reinstalling Windows but that didn't change anything.

My Specs: HP Omen 40L

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RT 6700 XT
  • Windows 11 22H2

Thanks for your help!

If your CPU is running at prolonged speeds and reinstalling Windows didn't solve the problem, there could be several reasons for this. You should check the CPU temperature, power settings, for malware or viruses, and background processes. Additionally, updating the BIOS and drivers could help resolve the issue. If none of these solutions work, your CPU or motherboard may have a hardware issue. In that case, you should contact HP support or take your PC to a professional repair shop for diagnosis and repair.
