CPU-intensive tasks problem with 5600G

Few months ago I bought R5 5600G and since then I had problems with CPU-intense tasks. When I'm unzipping something or installing something from like EGS, my PC becomes unusable. Everything lags except that unzip or download. Tried reinstalling Windows - nothing. Before this CPU, I had i5-10400F with the exact same SSD and didn't have any problems. What can/should I try to fix this problem ?

You seem to be facing performance problems with your AMD Ryzen 5 5600G during CPU-intensive tasks like unzipping and installing. Here are steps to address this:

Update Drivers: Ensure all drivers, including chipset and GPU drivers, are up-to-date to avoid performance issues.

BIOS Update: Check for a motherboard BIOS update. These updates can enhance compatibility and performance with newer CPUs.

Thermal Monitoring: Monitor CPU temperatures during tasks, as high temperatures can lead to performance reduction. Verify proper CPU cooler installation.

Power Settings: Set your PC to High Performance mode in Windows power settings to avoid CPU performance limitations.

Background Applications: Close unnecessary background apps to free up CPU resources during intensive tasks.

Windows Updates: Keep Windows updated, as updates can address performance-related problems.

Check RAM: Ensure RAM is functioning well and is compatible with your system. Faulty or insufficient RAM can impact performance.

Storage Health: Confirm your SSD's health. Struggling drives can affect system responsiveness.

Power Supply: Verify your PSU is providing sufficient power. Inadequate power can lead to instability.

Background Tasks: Use Task Manager to identify CPU-hungry background tasks. Close them before CPU-intensive processes.

Thermal Paste: If you built the system, check CPU thermal paste. Poor application can cause overheating.

Memory XMP/DOCP Profile: Enable XMP/DOCP profiles for RAM in BIOS to optimize memory performance.

If issues persist, reach out to AMD support or forums for assistance. Remember, different CPUs can perform differently, so variances between the Ryzen 5 5600G and the i5-10400F are possible.
