Windows Taskmanager shows my 3200 RAM running at 1600

System:

  • Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super
    • Driver 26.21.14.3136
  • Operating System
    • Windows 10 64bit 10.0.18362
  • Motherboard:
    • ASRock X399M Taichi BIOS 3.50
  • CPU
    • AMD 2920X
  • RAM
    • Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3200 4 x 16GB BLS16G4D32AESC
    • not shown on the ASRock QVL listing

Issue:

  • Windows Taskmanager shows my 3200 RAM running at 1600
  • 3DMARK identifies it as 3200 and gives me a score of 10276 and PCMARK10 score 6023 (never ran this before, so don't know if it matters)
  • AMD RM shows 1600 as well
  • I am using XMP2 which shows 3600 as well

New build, so I haven't really used the system yet. Just wonder if I made a booboo with the RAM?

No, aliamd, your memory clock is 1600MHz, but the memory speed is 3200 MHz, because it is Double Data Rate - DDR.  Please post a screenshot of Ryzen Master (R) - simply drag-n-drop image into reply.  It does look like you are NOT running XMP2.  Did you set it in the BIOS?  It may have failed Training during POST.  Thanks and enjoy, John.

EDIT: Please run Cinebench R20 for test and list your power supply.

Hi John,

Thank you for your response. I get the DDR, however, I assumed Windows TM would show the performance vs the clock rate.. Makes sense now. I'll read up on how that actually works as it is, at minimum, confusing.

Cinebench20 score is 5680pastedImage_1.jpgpower supply: Corsair RM750x

And it is indeed enjoyable.. completely unnecessary powerful for me.. I built it for the build..now I will need to find proper use other than..browsing
