Everything was working fine on the 5950X, but I wanted to turn it more into a dedicated gaming setup so I snagged a 5800X3D on sale. Drained the loop, swapped the processors, etc. Fire it up, and it runs through the usual POST lights and such, but stops at Code 98 with the yellow/green QLED on the motherboard. Check the owners manual "Console Input Devices Connect"... which tells me nothing. Google searches have results ranging from 2015 to earlier this year, nothing definitive - Did I just end up with a bad CPU?
I put the 5950X into a different system and it's running fine, I have the ability to switch the processors around, albeit with the pain of draining the loop, etc.
Any recommendations?
