vichawkins, please tell us what your system does. Fans come on, beep codes (requires speaker), powers down or what? Can you boot into the BIOS/UEFI? Please try one stick of RAM in all slots and see if any different results. What CPU cooler do you have. Enjoy, John.
mboard is a gigabyte ga-ab350 gaming 3 b350/ rev1.1
did not verify on amd qvi for ram, would not even boot to bios, cpu error led light on mboard
apparently only up to 2667 MHz will work?
First of all... INFORMATION REQUIRED WHEN POSTING A QUESTION
Please be specific... Gigabyte has more than one motherboard that use "ab350" in the description.
But in general,
Are you able to get into the BIOS?
Are you getting any BIOS "BEEP" codes? (assuming you have a speaker attached to the motherboard)
Is your RAM on the QVL list for your motherboard? Is it 2x8GB? Part Number? What slots on the motherboard do you have it plugged into?
Are both power cables plugged into the motherboard?
no boot at all. cpu error on mboard led.
Unplug every thing from the motherboard. video card, Ram, hard drives, etc.
Connect only the motherboard, CPU, power supply and motherboard speaker.
Turn on system.
You should get one BIOS "Beep", meaning everything is good.
If no beeps, or multiple beeps, then either the motherboard or the CPU is bad.
See the motherboards manual for the beep codes or check with Gigabyte.
no beeps, ram is 2x8GB, tried all slots, both cables pluged in, did not even get to bios screen,
can you post the Make and Model number of your RAM MEMORY . Also post what BIOS you have installed on your Motherboard.
According to Gigabyte Support on your Motherboard, You need BIOS version (minimum) F6: GA-AB350-Gaming 3 (rev. 1.x) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE U.S.A.
AMD | Ryzen 5 1600 | 6C/12T | 3.2GHz / 3.6GHz | 3MB | 16MB | N/A | Summit Ridge | 14nm | B1 | 65W | F6 |

This is the latest BIOS for your Motherboard from Gigabyte Support: GA-AB350-Gaming 3 (rev. 1.x) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE U.S.A.

We need that information to check whether your RAM MEMORY is on the QVL List for your particular Motherboard. Check your RAM MEMORY Number from the QVL list for your Gigabyte Motherboard:
These are the ONLY 3200 mhz RAM MEMORY on the QVL List. See if your RAM MEMORY is listed:
Maybe you should double check the CPU and make sure you didn't bend any pins while installing it.
16GB 2x8GB ddr4 pc4-25600 3200MHz PV441G320C6K
no pins bent
would not even post to bios.
Your memory is not listed on the QVL list that I posted. Download the RAM MEMORY QVL LIST from the previous comment and see if your RAM MEMORY is listed. The PV441G320C6k doesn't seemed to be a valid RAM MEMORY Part Number.
There are ONLY three Makes that are listed as compatible CORSAIR, G.SKILL and APACER under the 3200 Mhz category.
I downloaded the RAM MEMORY for Ryzen Processor QVL List from Gigabyte Support and attached it to this post. Just click on the PDF and you can check for yourself to see if your RAM MEMORY is listed. But it doesn't seem to be.
EDIT: Google VIPER Ram Memory and it seems to be made by PATRIOT and their part numbers start with PV. If this is the case, you need to contact Gigabyte Support or Patriot Support and ask them if your RAM MEMORY is compatible with your motherboard since it not listed.
