AMD ryzen 5 5500u problem
I have an AMD Ryzen 5 5500u cpu and noticed it runs underclocked at average of 1.7ghz when idle. Curious why? Factory cpu specs say its suppose to run at 2.1ghz-4.6ghz. Anyway to get it from being underclocked? Any way to boost the frequencies? Socket is FP6 i believe, so AMD Master Utility is a no go. Says unsupported processor.

The low frequency may have to do with what the TDP is set at. The default is 15W, but it can be set to 25W.
Default TDP = 15W
AMD Configurable TDP (cTDP) = 10-25W
If possible, look into the BIOS for TDP. Increase it to 25W - if available.
What is the cpu's temperature at idle and at load? The max temp is 105C.
Max. Operating Temperature (Tjmax) = 105C

Problem was svm mode (cpu virtualization).
