Which card to display WQHD 144hz ?

Hi,

I cant find an answer to my question so I humbly ask for your help.

I bought a 144hz screen with 3440x1440 resolution.

I have  R9 270X with FX-8350 but in the list of display mode on win10 I only have :

3440x1440 at 100hz

To have The 144hz, the higher resolution is WHD

2560x1080 144hz

I dont have a lot of money to spend And new graphic cards are  rare. So I want To upgrade for a 2nd hand old but better graphic card but i need to be sure it will display at full res 144hz.

So my question :

- which Generation of  card can do this or  which model ? (A R9 280X for exemple ?)

PS : I know I will not be able to run any decent game full res / full fps. I just Want my desktop for multimedia use to run as smoothly as possible.

Thank you In advance !

Cheers !

It is difficult to find specs concerning Resolutions at certain Hz. Best to ask the Manufacturer Support site whether the GPU card supports 144Hz at what resolutions.

I would try the RX500 or RX5000 series GPU cards to see if they support those Resolutions at 144hz.

Also you need to consider if your PSU will be sufficient to run a newer version of AMD GPU Card. You can check this PSU website to determine which GPU card you can install in your PC with the PSU you have: http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm

The key question is how are you connecting your display? Thru DP or HDMI?

Almost all current AMD GPUs support DP 1.2, if you don't have HDMI 2.0 output on your GPU, just purchase a DP-HDMI 2.0 adapter and connect to your display, unless your monitor is already equipped with DP 1.2

R9 270 has 2x DVI, 1x DP 1.2 and 1x HDMI 1.4:
