Hello everyone,
Some time ago I set up a new setup for myself and my wife. Both setups the same.
AMD Ryzen 7 5800x
32GB 3600 DDR4 from Team Group
XFX Merc 319 RX6900XT
Aorus X570 Gaming Ultra
850 watt BeQuit power supply
1x 32" MSI WQHD Curved (Main Monitor)
1x 27" AOC WQHD
1x 24" AOC FHD
So far so good. Since we started using WoW, we have had the problem of getting black screens at irregular intervals. This occurs differently every time. Sometimes 3x an hour, sometimes not at all for 2 days. Let's switch to DX11 and everything works great. Likewise, the problem never occurs at the same time. It can affect me three times and my wife not once, even though we play the same content in the same group.
In every other game everything works fine. Destiny 2 on max setting with 120 FPS plus, Diablo IV with 200 FPS plus on max. Settings. It looks the same in various other games, everything works great even with ray tracing. Just not WoW with DX12.
What have I done so far?
1. System (W11 always with current patch version) reinstalled several times --> unsuccessfully
2. By 1. all drivers from MB / Win11 / AMD have been reinstalled several times --> unsuccessfully
3. MB Bios up to date --> unsuccessful for the problem
4. VBIOS of XFX up to date according to the XFX website (on my card for testing) --> unsuccessful
5. Various Google searches were carried out without success
6. Contacted Blizzard, no response so far
7. Contacted AMD, no response yet
8. GPU monitored, not too hot or anything like that
I'm now at a loss as to why these black screens only occur in WoW in conjunction with DX12. So far no one has been able to help.
Blizzard's answer was/is:
"Unfortunately, there are indeed problems with AMD graphics drivers under DirectX 12 in WoW at the moment. All information suggests that this is something that AMD needs to fix in the drivers itself.
The best solution we can recommend is that you play under DirectX 11 and also contact AMD."
Therefore it would be great if someone here has ideas or knows the problem and has a solution. At some point the DX11 may no longer be supported and then the current situation would be rather bad.
