Hi,
As title says. I just bought 144Hz monitor LG27GL850-B and I've got wierd problem with vRAM of RX 5700XT.
There is no Overclocking made.
OS : Windows 7.
Driver 20.2.1 ( 20.2.2 is making my computer to restart at random events )
When refreshing is set to 144 Hz, even on idle my vRAM usage is about 47% and clocks are at 1750 MHz !!!.
When I set it to 120 Hz the vRAM clock drops to 200-300 Mhz but usage is still at 40+ %.
I've also made a resolution profile where I set refreshing rate at 142 Hz - at this setting VRAM clock is also at normal rate of 200 Mhz but again VRAM usage at 47 %.
WTH is going on ?
Does anyone had/has similar problem ? Any ideas how to fix it ?
I made a quick video of the temporary fix of this problem
Fix high memory clock AMD Radeon card with 144Hz Monitors on idle - YouTube
maybe someday AMD will fix this problem
Im also having this issue on 240hz monitor lol when i report that im stuttering in games i get the usual theres nothing wrong thats how the card is supposed to run lol.
1750 vram clock for me as well and i cannot do ur fix cause im on 240hz theres no way im playing on 142hz
Maybe try 238Hz, 230Hz ? Or something similar ?
hardreset- I have seen your video. It helps to keep clocks on 200-300 Mhz on idle system but doesn't solve vRAM usage.
Right now I have 1,4 GB vRAM used on idle system - WTH ??!!
There is also one problem with your idea - color depth. If you set it up on 142 Hz and reboot system, you won't be able to set color depth more then 6bpc...
Yes, I know that, we feel until amd do something about it. This is my temporary proposition. For gaming proposes to set 144Hz
