Monitor question

Hi

I have had my AOC G2770PF LCD 27 inch Monitor for about a year now,but there has always been something i've wondered about.I have my RADEON RX 580 connected to my monitor via a HDMI cable. But when i am playing a game that has a refresh rate above 60hz and i select that resolution mode,my screen goes black(with interference).

What i want to know if i use a different cable for connecting my RADEON RX 580 to my monitor, will i be able to use different resolution modes above 60hz?.

Thanks in advance.

Colin

You should use the monitor with DP. It may not offer high frequencies (144) with HDMI. So buying a new HDMI cable may not solve the problem.

hi, i have the same monitor, you should have a cable to the DP port, HDMI and not support above 60hz,
if you do not have a DP cable, buy some cheap enough and then you will have 144hz

Hi

Thanks for the advice.Do you know what sort of cable I would need exactly?.This is all a bit new to me and I want to get it right.
