Hey, 

just got myself 6700xt to upgrade my PC. Got AMD r5 3600. I know that 650w is recommended, and I got exactly 650w. But do you guys think it will run ok? And should I upgrade my PSU as well? Also planning on upgrading my ram with two sticks 8gb each.

I have a 650W PSU and I've been running on a 5800X and a 6700XT since 2021 with no issues. As long as it's a not a no-name PSU that lies about it's power rating it will be ok.

I used to run a 6700XT + R7 3700X with a 550W Corsair power supply, had no issues whatsoever. The whole system used around 400-450W so that was the bare minimum but it was decent enough.

So, yeah, like @hawkeye said 650W is plenty enough as long as it's not some ultra cheap nobrand PSU. The recommendations are typically higher than the hardware actually needs because they are taking into account that some people might run cheaper, less reliable PSUs so as long as yours is decent enough you're good.

Or they're taking into account the user running a CPU (from the blue team) that requires a nuclear power plant to run some tasks lol

My PSU is from DeepCool 80 plus bronze. I dont know much about the brand, but store clerk assured they are good

I'm running a 5700x + 6800XT on a Seasonic 650W power supply with absolutely no problems.  As for your RAM, yes, 2x8GB will be fine (always 2 sticks -- 1 will bottleneck the system and 4 have been known to cause issues).  Since you're running a 3600 CPU (i.e., AM4), the sweet spot for memory speed is DDR4 3200 (at least it was back in the day when I built this computer).
