Yesterday I went to update my video drivers to 22.10.2 from 22.9.1 and now the Adrenaline software no longer opens.  When I try to open it I get a delayed write failed error message.  What is even worse is no driver works except 22.5.1 now even though I used them in the past.  This means I can not use Opengl or super resolution in windowed borderless.  This is beyond frustrating I already have tried to get rid of all drivers with DDU and AMDs uninstall and start fresh the same error persist.  I have even turned off the group policy to update the drivers.  Windows did not have an update so that isn't it.  Anyone else run into this or know a fix?

OS: Windows 11 22H2

GPU: MSI 6700XT Gaming X

CPU: Ryzen 5600X

RAM: 16GB TFORCE 3200mhz

MOBO: MSI A520 PRO

Having the same issue, today I updated to Windows 11 22H2 and if I click on the Adrenalin app, it won't launch. If I open it as an administrator I get the same error.

OS: Windows 11 22HS
GPU: MSI 5700 XT

CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X

RAM: 32Gb

MOBO: Aorus B450 M

Same is happening with the new 22.10.3 and windows is fully updated. Any resolve to this issue yet?

I was hoping 22.10.3 would fix it but I have the same issue with it.  What is sad is I was on newer drivers before but now I am stuck on 22.5.1.  I have used ddu, turned off wifi, and every other trick in the book no solution yet.  There is another thread where someone else has the same issue.  This is beyond frustrating.

I was on 22.10.1 and all was well until I updated to 22.10.2, I still had the download for 22.9.1 and that no longer works. 22.5.1 works but has stuttering issues on MW2 so I have to use 22.10.3 with no Radeon software. This is very frustrating and I really hope AMD chimes in on this issue, I’m sure there’s many others having this issue as well.

For temporary solution you might consider disabling write caching alltogether:
- type diskmgmt.msc right click, run as administrator
- select drive, right click, properties, hardware, select drive from list, properties, policies, uncheck "Enable write caching on the device"

Might have to do this to all drives with system or game files maybe

Then you'll likely have to restart computer and maybe install drivers once again

I doubt you would notice any difference in performance.

Considering what delayed write fail is, I would:
- DDU current driver with https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601 
- disable SAM in BIOS, then
- run chkdsk /F
- run sfc /scannow

Then reinstall driver

If this does not work, for temporary solution you might consider disabling write caching alltogether:

EDIT: Tried these drivers and don't seem to have issues myself. Just came to my mind, you do have enough free disk space and your SSD is not wearing out? If you run hwinfo64, does it say something about remaining disk life? 

Not all drives report this data though

98% remaining on my Western Digital M2 Drive which is where Windows is installed no drive failure and 180GB available so not that.  Guess I will turn off SAM and drive cache and see if that gets me anywhere.

The impression I'm getting from reading these threads is that it's a problem with Windows 11 22H2.  I don't think I've seen it with 21H2 or Windows 10. But, it's not like I did an exhaustive search of the forum.

I just tried using ddu once again and turning off sam in bios and disabling write cache and still no luck. HwMonitor doesn’t display my drive life but this is a fairly new build (February), and I have plenty of space on both my ssd’s.

I tried the same turned SAM off and disabled write cache same error. HWINFO shows my drive so I know it is at 98% and good.

It might be helpful to know if people are downloading direct from AMD driver page, or using the software settings option?

Got mine straight from the AMD driver page.  It is always the way I get it last driver I was on before I tried to update was 22.9.1 but that will now produce the same error stuck with 22.5.1 for adrenaline to even load now.

only way i can fix is by doing a system restore from a day or a couple hours before that seems to fix it everytime and lets me update

I have been testing this for the past week now. Its definitely something to do with 22h2 on both Windows 10 AND Windows 11. If you were already setup with Radeon in a stable form prior to 22h2, you're fine after 22h2 until you try to do any form of driver updating. I've done about 20(no really...6) clean installs to test every possible form of combination I can think of that would cause these issues to happen. One of the worst ones I ran into was that during driver install of Radeon, the PC goes to black screen and never recovers unless booted into Safemode and the driver removal tool is ran.

Stay off 22h2!!!!!

Yep I have tried every combo I can think off and I am still stuck.  22h2 should be avoided if you want Adrenaline to work on any driver newer than 22.5.1.   What is sad is I am past my 10 days since the update so I can't undo it and I really don't know if I want to go through the hassle of reinstalling everything for newer drivers.  Is it even possible to still get an iso of 21H2?  Then again even if I did it would want me to update to 22h2 non stop and I would have to roll back.  Bad situation.

I was just looking around the Microsoft site and can't find an official download of anything except the most recent (22H2 version).  I've found 3rd party sites that purport to have ISOs of 21H2, but I don't think I'd trust that.  I believe that corporate licenses can get old version, but that doesn't help you.

If you can find an old version and want to try a clean install of that, Microsoft's winget might be able to make the process of re-installing your software less painful.  You could use that to export a list of what's currently installed and then import that list on the new installation to re-install what's available.

NOTE:  I've never done the winget export/import thing.  I've only been using it for individual programs.  But, I'd been looking into the export/import thing to help with a re-install process.

I am replying to my own thread here but does anyone know of an alternate tool I could use for game settings?  I know I can use Afterburner for my undervolt and fan but I really like game profiles and being able to use RSR and so on.  Any other tool that can do this or should I just use the old drivers and wait it out?

I had the same problem after intalling 22.10.3 optional update. Radeon Software won't launch displaying delayed write error.

In my case i was able to fix it by installing RSXPackage.msix located in C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext.

Just signing in to say thank you. You literally saved me from a DDU loop. I was reinstalling and uninstalling and reinstalling and uninstalling. But running that package that you mentioned fixed everything.

Hey I also have a problem to install the RSXPackage file. I copied your code into the powershell but I still get an error when I try the install: "App installation error. Error message: Windows cannot install the package AdvancedMicroDevicesInc-RSXCM_22.10.0.0_x64__fhmx3h6dzfmvj because it does not declare support for an external location. (0x80070032)"
