Everytime i try to install a new amd software the same problem happen device not started (amdkmdap)
i tried DDU i tried AMD Cleanup but nothing works pls help
Are you on windows 20h2?
I am having the same error on my RX570 on a new machine. Did you find a resolution to this. My card works after driver install but if I reboot it kills it.
bought my rx 580 a week before and having the same issue
mh, reinstall windows please
if error persist - check if your RX 580 is actually a flashed RX 480 - as this would need a patcher to allow your GPU to run...
did you bought your GPU used?
This didn't happen to me until 20h2. Different bios are out there all over. Sometimes that is the issue.
I reinstalled Windows. Still happens on install. In October I was able to install my monitor driver it gave me more features, its freesync.
Now they won't let me install it. There putting to much security in the system. I don't feel like admin of my own computer anymore.
Hi, I have that problem and I bought it used and recently I found out that my GPU is flashed rx480. You said I will need a patcher and I don't know what that is. So if you could please help me this problem is killing me and I need my pc to normally for work. Thanks!
read what i posted (the link with the patcher)
it alters the driver to allow bios-flashed GPUs
Hi I tried using Patcher but unfortunately, it didn't work, it might be because I usually try only amd 580 drivers and this is 480 flashed. Should I try downloading 480 drivers? Thanks!
I have same problem on saphire pulse radeon rx5600xt but no blue screen dont know what to do with it.
Mobo aorus b450 elite Ryzen 5 3600.
This is hapening after any driver instal.
Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_731F&SUBSYS_E4111DA2&REV_CA\6&5738d8c&0&00000019 had a problem starting.

oem1.inf = driver OEM profiles fails
1. run DDU in Safe-Mode to clean old driver
2. reboot and install latest driver (from AMD - not OEM)
3. reboot and test again
@the RX480 to RX580 guy - you could also find the correct bios and flash it back to orginal state - then you dont need the patcher
This is after ddu and driver instal from amd site.
This is happening from begining of owning this pc.
Its prebuild one year old.
@wasago
as i said: something that your OEM (HP/Dell etc) did is causing a problem.
i would recommend you save your data external and reinstall windows.
i cant rule out an hardware defect - but i am more convinced its a software problem.
so as i said - please install a fresh windows
and again: in oem1.inf are OEM profiles of the company that built your pc.
it is not neccessary for your hw-driver
Thx older driver instalation have diferent oem error like oem46.inf and oem9.inf
But card working ok. on some drivers sometimes gets driver time out but only in opengl games.
use latest working driver
or simply do a win10 re install
also: dont OC your GPU and maybe flash back orginal Bios
???
1. run Windows in SafeMode
2. install Driver - DONT REBOOT
3. run patcher
4. reboot - it should work
if it didnt work:
1. run DDU in SafeMode
2. clean old drivers
3. reboot into safe-mode
4. install latest AMD driver
5. reboot into safe-mode
6. run patcher
7. reboot into windows and disable Auto-Driver-Install
if your RX480 is flashed to a RX580 you need to run the patcher when the driver is installed - otherwise it cant work
DONT update driver after patcher was run - if you want new drivers: download them, install them in safe-mode and patch in safe-mode
ps: my RX460 2G is patched to a RX460 2G with all shaders (so its a RX560 now) - i need to use the patcher and it works fine!
