I have an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT and have recently been having graphics driver issues which have prevented me from playing Steam games. I tried a clean graphics driver install and that hasn't seemed to fix the issue as in Device Manager my driver still has the yellow warning icon. In the device manager on Display Adapters, there are 2 lines. One is called " AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT" and the second is called " AMD Radeon (TM) Graphics" and the second one has the yellow warning icon. After Uninstall of the drivers I tried to install the driver update for Windows 10 which is Adrenalin 23.7.2
How should I proceed?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Do games from other launchers work? Did you use AMD removal tool to remove the drivers?
I've tried other launchers and they work. It's mostly Rust on Steam which fails to open when clicked on in the Steam library. I have not used the AMD Removal Tool. I ran my pc in Safe Mode and used a DDU and then reinstalled new drivers but that still resulted in failure to launch games. I tried Facepunch support for Rust and sent them error files and they said it was a Graphics Driver Issue. I guess I'll check out the AMD Removal tool.
I'm not sure but i think this all started around a Windows update on my PC.
I just got my rdna3 card two weeks ago; try using the amd removal tool to remove your current drivers, and instead of letting Windows10 install Adrenalin, download the driver and Adrenalin from AMD's driver website (link below) and see if that makes a difference. Also, try verifying game files in Rust. If it's only Steam games you're having issues with, then it could be a separate Steam issue..
Just used and removal tool and have not yet downloaded new drivers. I looked at device manager and found that under display adapters there's two things that say "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" and the bottom most one has the yellow warning icon. I looked in properties and it said "Windows cannot load drivers for device" followed by "the driver trying to start is not the same as the driver for the POSTed display driver."
Not sure what this means or what I should do.
