GPU crash when playing new CoD

Hey Guys,

I start playing the new Call of Duty MW3 Multiplayer and get near the end of 1 game or a couple games in and the game crashes showing DirectX Error saying my GPU driver does not meet the recommended version yet everything is completely up-to-date. I've deleted and re-installed the game, and not sure what else to do (pretty new to all this). I have the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics and 16GB RAM.

Any help appreciated!

There are a few things that could be causing your GPU to crash when playing the new Call of Duty MW3 Multiplayer.

Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Ensure your drivers are up to date.
  2. This is the most common cause of GPU crashes.
  3. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card and your motherboard.
  4. You can find these drivers on the manufacturer's website.
  5. Verify your GPU settings.
  6. Some GPU settings can cause instability, such as overclocking or improper cooling.
  7. Make sure your GPU settings are set to the default values.
  8. Check for overheating.
  9. Overheating can cause your GPU to crash.
  10. Make sure your GPU is properly cooled and that your computer has good airflow.
  11. Reinstall the game
  12. Sometimes, corrupted game files can cause crashes.
  13. Try reinstalling the game to see if that resolves the issue.
  14. Contact Activision support.
  15. If you've tried all of the above and you're still having problems, contact Activision support.
  16. They may be able to help you troubleshoot the issue or provide a workaround.

Here are some additional tips to help prevent GPU crashes:

  • Avoid overclocking your GPU.
  • Overclocking can put a lot of stress on your GPU and can cause it to crash.
  • Make sure you have enough power for your GPU.
  • A high-end GPU can require a lot of power.
  • Make sure your power supply can handle the power requirements of your GPU
  • Keep your GPU drivers up to date.
  • Driver updates often fix bugs and improve performance.
  • Make sure your computer is properly ventilated.
  • Good ventilation is important for keeping your GPU cool.
  • If you're still having problems, consider upgrading your GPU.
  • A newer GPU will be more powerful and less likely to crash.

I hope this helps!

The solution to solve all these crashes is:

Use the AMD drivers version from 23.11. DO NOT UPDATE your graphic card drivers

I tried almost all the ideas found and the solution that works is downgrade the drivers.

I don't understand what AMD did but they crashed the compatibility with CoD.

And here i am , playing on the newest drivers on two rigs in the house (both 7900xtx/7800x3d) just fine. In fact, killer fps, zero issues.

Newest driver- 24.3.1  since day one of the driver coming out.

edit- also, this thread is like 6 months old. Cheers.
