Random black screen occurs with RX 6700 on PCI 4.0. Works perfectly on PCI 3.0

Hello,

I've recently purchase a RX 6700, and I noticed having random black screen for 0.3sec, sometime multiple times in a row.

I've take a screenshot during this, and I can see the Clock Speed of the VRAM dropping exactly when the black screen occurs :

This problem appears only when i'm not playing. Everything works perfectly when i'm in a game.

I've double check every connected, change alimentation cable for my GPU, verify that all drivers are up to date and the issue persisted.

To solve this, I've placed my GPU on the secondary PCI slot, which is PCI 3.0. Since, I don't have any issue.

CPU : AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

MB :  msi mag b550 torpedo

PSU : 650W

Could you help me to determine the origin of the issue ?

Thanks for your help,

Hello,

After few days investiguating on this issue, i've found the problem : Hardware acceleration on Chrome.

To anyone having this issue, try to disable it in chrome://settings/system

What make/model 650wtt PSU?

Are you running separate power cables to each power input on your GPU?

Is your BIOS up to date?

Do  you have the latest  AM4 Chipset drivers installed? Is  your Windows install up to date?

Are all of your GPU's power inputs connected by separate power cables?

Is your BIOS current?

Have you installed the most recent AM4 Chipset drivers? Do you have a current Windows installation?
