I'm currently running 5500 XT 4 gigabytes and I've been thinking about moving up to one of the newer graphics cards a RX 6600 or a RX 6600 XT my current CPU that I am running Ryzen 5 3600 currently.

to be honest I do have some plans for the future to upgrade my CPU but currently I just wanted to get a graphics card ahead of time just to save it when I get my upgrades completed because down here on my local computer store they don't really have the graphics cards or there's certain CPUs that I am looking for but I'm planning to upgrade my CPU to a ryzen 5 5600 in the future for my system but currently I'm just trying to find out what graphics card is better to pair with that system currently right now I'm going to be staying with my horizon 5500 XT for my old system right now but I was just trying to find out what graphics card is better to pair with the new CPU in the future

My previous build was a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with an MSI RX6700 XT Gaming X. This was a great platform and the only reason i upgraded to the Ryzen 9 5900X and Sapphire Nitro+ RX6900 XT SE was due to playing BF2042.

You have your answer right there. Since you are planning to move along with the CPU. I would consider a more beefier GPU.

There are some sweet deals on 6750XT or 6800 and you got yourself a much more future proof card with more VRAM.

does anyone know if the hyper 212 is enough for for the ryzen 5 5600 or the ryzen 5600x I also have really no plans of overclocking in any way though I'm mostly just using it for the uh raw performance that it has by default

I'd suggest you look at the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE, the Hyper 212, while a good cooler in its heyday, is not not very good for as modern CPUs that need better cooling to keep the CPU cool (even if you don't intend to OC), perhaps helps with maintaining better and longer boost clocks.

The Hyper 212 has got a rep, hence its present pricing of near 60USD, but the Peerless Assassin 120 SE can be had for 38USD at Newegg. Actually, there a white version going for 28USD! It is a tad big, but does a very good job at keeping CPUs cool...

Why go fan cooled, i found using a closed loop was much more efficient. On my Ryzen 5 5600X i used the EVGA CLC 240, on my Ryzen 9 5900X im using an EK 360 AIO my temps under full load never go above 50-55 degrees C

Eh, due to fact OP's asking about a 3600 (which he has now) but intends to move on to a 5600, doesn't sound like he's looking to go the WC route (which is more expensive), besides, I'm a user of both a 360mm AIO as well as the TR PA 120 SE. But, if he wanna go that route, it's fine...

I always worry that the pump would fail one day, and my CPU would or could overheat. With an air cooler with 2x 120mm fans, chances of both fans failing simultaneously is slim at best. Heck, I'm gonna use my AIO for another year or so, then I'd jump on a PA 120 for my main rig as well.
