AMD Advantage laptops vs Windows - advice?

Hello,

Can someone help me?  So far, I’ve had no success in getting AMD advantage laptops to run without serious issues let alone run better than my previous non-AMD laptop.  From what I gather, it seems Windows is the culprit, in my case Win 11, so would anyone recommend I install Ubuntu OS on the next machine for better stability/optimization?

Please read on for more detail.  (A more complete list of specs for every laptop mentioned will be at the bottom of this post - all 2022 releases)

So I had an Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 laptop in which mine was built with an intel core i9 CPU and nvidia 3070ti GPU but it’s hardware failed after a while and so I wanted to give an all AMD Advantage laptop a try since I figured it would run better and I want to support a good company.

I have since gone through two AMD Advantage laptops (first a Corsair Voyager a1600, then an Alienware M17 R5) and have had to return both of them due to poor performance, graphical glitches, or other weird malfunctions - the Alienware ended up in a never ending loop of rebooting itself upon start up.

I don’t know if it’s windows update (probably), windows home version compared to pro, the Radeon Software, the quality control of the laptops, or all of the above, but there was nothing advantageous about the laptops compared to the older one.  If it’s the poor quality control of the laptops themselves, then those companies are doing a huge disservice to AMD.  Either way, there were already compatibility issues straight out of the box for the drivers and Radeon Adrenalin software of each machine.  I noticed after the most recent windows “update”, that’s when the more serious issues occurred.

I really want to make it work with AMD, I believe in them and would rather not support monopolies.  I know about turning auto updates off by tweaking the system and rolling back to a previous version of windows, but those weren’t options for me on the last build.  If anyone has any other suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.
