What does extra budget get you?

Picture1.jpg

Our previous blog was focused on the entry space into PC gaming; cards starting at $129.  But with additional budget towards your PC, the door opens to several key benefits:

1. Improved Performance: A faster CPU and graphics card will net you higher framerates in your games for a smoother experience.  It also opens the door for enabling higher quality graphics settings, such as increased texture quality and raytracing, in your games at playable frames-per-second (FPS).

2. More Features: With a higher budget, you can opt for components with more features, better cooling solutions, and advanced overclocking capabilities[1]. You will also see more components with added RGB lighting, which can help personalize your build aesthetic.

3. Future Ready: More budget towards system components ensures that it is capable of handling upcoming games and software and means that you may not need to upgrade your PC as frequently.

Key Components of a Mid-Range PC Build

Processor (CPU) – Important for overall system performance, and the wrong processor can be a gaming bottleneck. AMD Ryzen™ 7 CPUs are the best mid-range gaming options from AMD.

Motherboard – The main framework that all PC components connect to and can affect graphics card bandwidth. For mainstream PCs an AMD B550 (Ryzen 5000 series - PCIe Gen 4) or AMD B650 (Ryzen 7000 Series - PCIe Gen5) are your choices from AMD.

Memory – 16GB in dual channel (2 identical sticks of 8GB) is recommended.

Graphics Card – The main component responsible for framerates and visual quality.  With AMD, you have several great options starting at $299.

And with high-performing, hardware accelerated raytracing coupled with AMD upscaling technologies like FidelityFX™ Super Resolution or Radeon™ Super Resolution, you can experience even more immersive lighting, reflections, and shadow detail in titles that support it.

For the best experience, playing on a monitor that supports AMD FreeSync technology[4] is designed to further enhance your experience by reducing choppy-looking gameplay and broken frames for a more fluid, artifact-free performance.

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™

The AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ application provides users with a range of powerful tools and features designed to enhance their gaming experience.  This includes:

  • AMD Noise Suppression technology: Eliminate unwanted and distracting background noises from your surrounding environment or the environment of others you’re streaming with.[5]
  • AMD Radeon™ Boost technology: Extra performance & responsiveness through dynamic resolution or shading adjustments.[6]
  • AMD Anti-Lag technology: Reduces input lag for a more responsive gaming feel.[7]
  • AMD Radeon™ Super Resolution technology: Works with thousands of games to increase your gaming performance using in-driver upscaling. If you can’t get above your preferred FPS minimums, turn this technology on in Adrenalin to boost your games FPS up to 3X.[8]
  • New Streaming Enhancements: Improve your streaming quality today using the latest version of OBS, now with AMD encode support, or use our capture and streaming capabilities that are built right into AMD Software.

Furthermore, keep up to date with the latest version to take advantage of continuous performance improvements in your games through driver updates.

Leadership Performance. Unmistakable Value.

Graphics cards are a major investment for your PC build, so you should feel confident you’re getting incredible performance and value with your purchase.  Stacking up these mid-range graphics cards against competition at similar price points, the value and superior performance you get with Radeon™ GPUs is unmistakable.
