RAID NVME W10: add drives to an existing install

Hello everyone,

I own a computer with as motherboard an ASUS x570 Pro Ace.

W10 operating system is installed on a single Optane Disk in U.2

Now, for a very specific usage, I would like to add TWO 4TB NVME drives in RAID 0.

I can create the RAID array in the bios without problem and it appears correctly during boot sequence

(an 8TB array is showned)

My issue is that the drive is not correctly reported in Windows (both drives still appear).

This looks very similar to the situation here...

https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/raid-0-nvme-w10-fresh-install-raid-drivers/td-p/422155

in which it is described that for a fresh install, the drivers must be installed in the following order:

- rcbottom.inf,
- rcraid.inf,
- rccfg.inf.

... except that in my situation I don't want to do a fresh install but add a RAID 0 array to an existing windows.

Any idea on how I have to proceed to install the RAID NVME drivers accordingly ?

Thanks in advance,

Alexandre.

Good evening,

I've tried to start a fresh installation and the Raid 0 Array of 8TB appears correctly ! (I did not went further than this step)

It is thus a driver issue into Windows, which I don't want to reformat...

Anyone could help ?

Seems like not too many Users are familiar with RAID configurations including myself. But I am fairly good at looking up information when needed.

Which AMD processor do you have installed?

You can go to AMD Download page to "Chipsets" and download the latest version of AMD RAID and GUIDE from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/x570

Did find this Lenovo Support to explains how to add more drives to an existing RAID system: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht509076-how-to-add-hard-drives-to-an-existing-raid-array

From the link above about the limitations concerning adding more drives:

Not sure if Lenovo's version of RAID is the same or similar to AMD RAID.

I have a 5950x processor.

Of course I installed the latest AMD Chipset and Raid drivers.

Unfortunately the content above does not help (I've already read all the guides but none provide any solution)

Anyone would have an idea ?
