i cannot install amd adrenaline software-23.9.2 on my RX 5500 XT card.

 isn't correct for RDNA1/2/3

I have the same - Error 182. It turned out to be updated via the driver - software-adrenalin-23.9.1

yes it works with an update, but not with a clean install

I always do a clean install using amdcleanuputility just to be sure.  I've had issues with updating.

I also always do a clean install, I'll try this with the update method, I hope it won't be a problem.

I too only do clean installs otherwise, I end up with random crashes and other issues down the road using the update method. Guess I'll be waiting for AMD to fix the update before I upgrade. Not playing anything new yet anyways but sucks for those who are relying on this update.

I found the issue, AMD linked to the wrong drivers for RDNA cards, the package size for RDNA drivers should be 1.2GB not 625MB

The correct drivers for RDNA cards is linked on AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.9.2 Release Notes | AMD

AMD, please clearly label the drivers for RDNA and Polaris/Vega as "combined" tells us nothing as well as making sure the correct drivers are linked to the correct download page

LOL.  1.2gb for a driver package.  Dating myself, but I can remember downloading driver packages for my Creative Labs 12mb Voodoo2 that was small enough to fit on one 1.44mb floppy.
