openSUSE Linux video freezes using HDMI monitor

Starting about a week ago, the video display freezes / locks when using a HDMI monitor in openSUSE Leap 15.2. It worked fine before that. It locks within a few minutes of starting a streaming video in Firefox, a bit longer in a Zoom session, and even longer if not streaming. Using the VGA monitor by itself, everything works correctly. After the freeze, the mouse pointer still moves, but nothing responds to clicks. If both monitors are enabled, they both freeze. When streaming, with frozen video, audio continues normally.

With the system booted into Windows 10, there is no problem with the HDMI monitor.

Card is VisionTek Radeon™ 5450 2GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

I got this resolved through a query at the openSUSE forum (openSUSE Forums). The fix was removing the ati driver (f86-video-ati). With it installed, two drivers were loading and causing the problem. With the ati driver removed, both monitors work together correctly.

Cheers,
