Is my processor capable to run 64-bit OS.

I have an AMD A8-6500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics. I have windows 7 32-bit version installed on my PC. I want to upgrade to 64-bit version of win7. I read lots of forums and found that if I have a capable Processor, then I can reinstall windows and select 64-bit in the setup, then it should be a 64-bit PC. But I was having trouble finding whether my Processor is capable or not. And also, if you know a another way to upgrade to 64-bit, then please share it with me.

This is the A8-6500 processor support list from TechPowerUp. So 64-bit support is available for it.

Also from CPU World: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-A8-Series%20A8-6500%20-%20AD6500OKA44HL.html

EDIT: One of the major differences between 32 bit OS and 64 bit OS is that the 64 bit OS supports RAM MEMORY greater than 4 Gigabytes whereas the 32 bit OS Maximum RAM MEMORY is 4 Gigabytes or less.

Yes you can upgrade your OS from 32bit to 64bit.. Even if you are upgrading your RAM from 4 gb to 8gb you can use windows 10 RS6 64bit. If you want to play graphical games then it is not advisable to upgrade to win10 with this configuration.
