Any SOC device like old sc520 ?

Hello I am wondering if AMD today has a processor device like the old eLanSC410/520 ?

The AMD ElanSC410-33AI processor is not sold to the public and it is an Embedded Processor that needs a BGA292 Socket thus it is an OEM/TRAY processor which is very old: http://www.cpu-world.com/cgi-bin/ajax/parts.fcgi?PART2=bga292&ACTION2=Compare&ACTION=Compare&CGI=OUT...

AMD does have Newer Embedded Processors according to AMD Download page: https://www.amd.com/en/support

Here is one Embedded Processor plus other related AMD Processor that uses the same Socket FP5: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Zen/AMD-Ryzen%20Embedded%20R1000%20R1606G.html

Not sure if this was what you were asking. If it is the wrong information then sorry I misread your post.

Otherwise open a AMD Service Request (Official AMD Support) and asked them and see what they suggest from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form

Hi Elstaci.

He he I know that the eLan chips are very old, but that does not translate to being useless or non interesting . The first advertising from AMD was a processor for small form factor PCBs and not for embedded alone, and this it what I designed my project for.

The difference between today's embedded and way-back SOC is getting smaller and smaller, maybe the new Ryzen embedded is what I look for, I will give it a look.

But shortly, the elan had the ISA/PCI controller on chip and some of the other peripherals as well, the elan 4xx had a video controller on chip and the sc5xx had to use external devices, but since it controlled the PCI directly it is no problem, further it also has an embedded version of ISA. and that way lowers the need of external devices to complete the small form factor PC.

For the "evaluation" board who did the BIOS ? Phoenix ?

Thanks for your time and answer Elstaci

Sincerely

You seemed to be either an Engineer or Developer.

I suggest you open a AMD Service Request (Official AMD SUPPORT) and see if they can help you with your question: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form

Also if you are a developer then you might want to post at AMD Developer's Forum for Newcomers and see if anyone there might have some knowledge of what you are trying to do from here: Newcomers Start Here

Otherwise you are way above my head so I won't be able to offer anything else unfortunately.

Good luck and take care.

Hi again Elstaci

To be honest I was in doubt if they had hardware support, as most of the texts look like it was only software support. But I will try.

And yes I am an electronic engineer and have developed hardware since '88.

I will go try those sites I bow thanksfully.....

Sincerely

  Klavs.
