I have two ryzen 3600 machines and one of them no matter how high (seriously 90+C) the temp gets the fan will not go above 2000. seems to stay at about 1950-ish constantly. I've fiddled in the BIOS and changed all the settings but it will NOT go above 2000. Other machine runs as high as 2600RPM.

what's up? faulty fan?

I have no idea what the maximum speed of the AMD fan is. I can tell you that I found the stock fan on my 3600 to be completely inadequate. I bought a CM 212 Evo and it keeps it very cool. I also use one on my 3700x.

TWIST! Following some other leads I installed MSI dragon center to find out if i could force the fan higher in software and it thinks that 2000 RPM is the max speed for the fan!!!

Did AMD ship me a Ryzen 2600 fan for my 3600? Because my other Ryzen 3600 goes higher than 2000 RPM.  (I read that the 2600 had a 2000 RPM fan). Or maybe it's that MSI's b450 tomahawk (non-max, latest bios) bios has an error in it.

Same here, I have 3600 with B450 Mortar (non-max, latest BIOS), my max RPM reaches 1900, also my 3600 does not clock to 4.2GHz. It is surely BIOS bug. Did you find any fix to it? Looks they won't fix problems in BIOS even after 2 years.
