R9 270X unidentified by the motherboard Asus Z87-A after reinstalling Windows 10.

Hi, I had to reinstall WINDOWS 10 after a failure (everything was working very well until then).

And now my R9 270X is well identified on the safe mode but is not identified on the "normal" mode (it's identified as "basic microsoft video board").

My mother board is a ASUS Z87-A. I already tried these :

- update the bios of the mother board => 0K

- update the drivers of the mother board => OK

- update the driver of the mother board => it always bugs, i tried with ADRENALIN directly, driverscloud and driverd booster. I suppose it's always for the same reason : there is no identified GPU.

What can i do please ?

Download the latest AMD Driver for your GPU card from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-r9-series/amd-radeon-r9-200-series/amd-radeon-r9-...

Then use this basic method to install the AMD driver to prevent conflicts:

Uninstall the current AMD Driver using DDU as per this method:

It could be due to a corrupted AMD Driver installation.

Download free program DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). Run it in Safe mode with the internet disconnected.

You can also run it in Windows Desktop but then you would need to Reboot the computer for DDU to finish erasing all of  the AMD Driver traces from your computer.

Once it finishes uninstalling the current AMD Driver in Safe mode and boots back to Windows Desktop, still with the Internet disconnected, delete the AMD Installation folder C:\AMD if it was created before.

Now install the full AMD Drive package you downloaded manually from AMD Download page. Not the express package. Run the package and if it installs correctly again delete C:\AMD folder and reconnect the internet.

This should prevent any conflict when installing the new version from the previous version.

By the way, C:\AMD is always created whenever you run the AMD Driver package

Afterwards check Device Manager and see if your GPU card is being recognized without any errors.

NOTE: Don't delete C:\AMD if your GPU card is not recognized in Device Manager. Use Device Manager to update the Display Adapter by updating the driver by directing it to C:\AMD installation folder. It should locate and install the basic driver and it related software if Windows recognizes your GPU card is installed.
