RX 5700 XT - Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Hello, Today I updated my Drivers to 20.2.2 (I was using 19.11.3 previously because the game I am playing "Blade and Soul" 19.11.3 Driver version seem to work the best FPS Wise for the game, however it was causing Driver crashes and black screens, today decided to update the drivers to 20.2.2 because I saw Black Screen fixes so I thought I'll sacrifice FPS for better performance, however not only that FPS is not stable in Blade and Soul (15 FPS+ on start of the battle and then stays 25-30+, (I know the game is not perfectly optimized however, I was running the game Triple times better with R9 GPU then RX 5700 XT. but I also started to face display crashes, they do recover unlike before where it completely used to crash, Now when ever I am in a game, screen goes black for 3-5 seconds and then game gets minimized but screen recovers, I checked Event Viewer to see what problems I could find and I found this:

amdkmdap seem to crash every 10 or so minutes.

EDIT: Nvm, this happens way more often, just happened 4 display crashes within 3 seconds, completely unusable, will have to downgrade back :/

It follows with a Critical Error and then 3 warnings above.

Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Any way I can fix this?

AMD Can you also please do some Optimization for Blade and Soul as the older Driver runs better then the new version for that game.

My computer specs are as follows:

  • Ryzen 7 2700x  (No OC)
RX 5700 XT - Sapphire Nitro+ (No OC)
    Corsair Vengence C16 3200 MHz DDR4 (2x8 GB) (OC)
    x470 Gaming Plus
    EVGA SuperNova G3 Gold+ 650W

Same Problem with me,  "Radeonsoftware.exe stopped working" and "amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered" every 5min i play the Division2

Asus RX570 strix 4gb (brandNew)

i5-8400

16gb ddr4 ram

samsung 970 evo m.2

updated windows10

Yeah, seems like downgrading Driver version is the best option right now until it gets fixed or if anyone shares solution fix for it, It's crashing way to often, Like you said, sometimes it takes 10 Minutes. sometimes it takes 5 minutes and Sometimes it crashes 3 or 4 times within those 5 minutes, sometime it hangs system for a good minute while sometimes it recovers really fast, very unstable and not usable.

Hi guys,

I hope you guys can give the following method a try.

How to install AMD Drivers (without the installing Adrenaline Software) - YouTube

Thanks man, it did fix the  Radeonsoftware.exe (Event ID: 1000) and (Event ID: 10016) error, however.
Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered (Event ID: 4101) still happening, I gotta say it does not happen as often as before, but still occurs every 1 to 2 hours also when ever it happens it comes with a new error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: (Nothing displayed)

This Application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I tried re-installing Visual C++ and Repair but still occurs with amdkmdap
