Can't select native resolution

Question asked by dgron on Feb 11, 2020

I bought an RX 5700 and now I can't select native resolution (2560x1600, dell U3011) but instead a maximum of 1920x1200. The monitor is connected over HDMI converted to a DVI-D dual link.

I've also had problems with this with my previous GPU RX 480 with the same connector. This problem didn't appear until I installed the 19.4.1 or later driver, but it was solved installing AMD/ATI pixel clock patcher 1.4.7.

I have tried a few driver versions for the rx 5700 so far, all with or without the pixel clock patch, to no improvement. I've tried Virtual super resolution in the Radeon settings as well as Custom Resolution Utility, neither will achieve monitor native resolution.
