R7 200 - Dual Display not working

My system crashes when I connect two monitors to my GPU. The setup was working fine until recently, when I updated my CPU, RAM and storage (switched from HDD to SDD) and completely reinstalled Windows 10.

Describe your system:

  • AMD Graphics Card
    • AMD Radeon R7 260X
  • Desktop or Laptop System
    • Desktop
  • Operating System
    • Windows 10 64bit
  • Driver version installed
    • Adrenalin 2020 Edition 19.12.3
  • Display Devices
    • Hanns.G HA222 connected via DVI
    • Hanns.G HL229 connected via DVI
  • Motherboard + Bios Revision
    • ASUS H55MLE
  • CPU/APU
    • Intel i7 870 (formerly i3)
  • Power Supply Unit  Make, Model & Wattage
    • Xilence (don't know wattage)
  • RAM
    • 8 GB (formerly 4 GB)

The dual display setup worked properly on my old Win 10 installation. Both monitors work fine when operated in in single display mode, connected to either of the DVI ports of the GPU. When both are connected, soon glitches appear, the sreens begin to flicker and ultimately go black, until the computer reboots. It's not even enough time left to navigate to the AMD control center. I used the AMD software removal tool and installed the 15.201 driver from 2015 -- same problem. Both displays work fine in Win 10 safe mode. Looks like driver issues to me, but I ran out of ideas to fix it and even began to consider if accidentally damaged some hardware when I switched the components. Help is appreciated.
