I am a retired HW engineer and found a CPU? AM8039D1 from 1980. I´m curious what it is because no data sheet no longer is available on internet - anyone who knows?

Found this at Wikipedia concerning AMD processors in general: List of AMD microprocessors - Wikipedia 

I believe your best bet is to open a AMD Service Request from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form 

Upload a photo of the processor and as close as possible to show any writing on the chip it self.

I would double check that model and try CPU World, they have info on everything Intel and AMD, and many others, made stretching back to the 70s.

I originally posted an image of CPU World but it only shows the AM2xxxxx models. When I inputted his model nothing came up. I beginning to suspect he doesn't have a processor but another type of AMD Chip.

Maybe if the OP uploaded a Photo of the AMD Chip showing what is written on it might help.

The chip has a number 38005 ref to photos

Still nothing comes up.

Best thing to do is open a AMD Service Request (AMD SUPPORT) and they should be able to tell you what type of AMD Chip you have. Make sure you upload a photo as I suggested previously.

Thanks for your reply. I happen to Bookmark that website for future use. Many other Users are asking for Data Sheets of AMD hardware and this is one website that can help answer their questions.
