RX 5700 and Philips 246E9QDS

FreeSync is showing up as unsupported even though the monitor supports it over HDMI.  There're no options to be enabled in the monitor.

The FreeSync monitors list at https://www.amd.com/en/products/freesync-monitors  lists a 246E9QD but not the 246E9QDS - is this a typo?  As far as I can tell, there's no monitor named 246E9QD.  Could this be the reason that I can't get FreeSync to start up?

I "fixed" this by using CRU to add a FreeSync Range value of 48-75 by following this: Enabling freesync on non-freesync monitors [Tutorial] : Amd  This makes FreeSync work as it should, but this shouldn't have been required.

An annoying problem on a monitor that is otherwise a very good deal at the price.
