Eyefinity not working 2x2

Newer drivers will not allow an advanced setup with a display arrangement of 2x2. The latest version that will work is Radeon Settings Version - 2017.0612.1651.28496
Driver Packaging Version - 17.10.3211.1011-170612a-315159E-CrimsonReLive
Provider - Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
2D Driver Version - 8.1.1.1599
Direct3D® Version - 9.14.10.01261
OpenGL® Version - 6.14.10.13476
OpenCL™ Version - 22.19.171.257
AMD Mantle Version - 9.1.10.0189
AMD Mantle API Version - 102400
AMD Audio Driver Version - 10.0.1.1
Vulkan™ Driver Version - 1.5.0
Vulkan™ API Version - 1.0.39

I attempted the latest driver and it forces a 1x4 arrangement with no option to select advanced and use 2x2.

Will this be fixed in a future release of the drivers?

Hardware is Radeon HD 7700 with 4 ASUS Pro C422AQ arranged 2x2 with a final eyefinity display resolution of 3840x2160.

Have you tried using a lower resolution like 1920 x 1080 on all four monitors and see if you get 2x2 ?

How are all four monitor connected to the GPU card, via MST using DP?

According to this TechSpot Review of the HD 7770 it mentions it can support resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 up to 3  or 5 monitors depending on how it is connected to the GPU card: AMD Radeon HD 7770 & Radeon HD 7750 Review > Radeon HD 7770 in Detail - TechSpot

I was trying to find a chart that shows all the different Resolutions the HD 7700 can support in a Multi-Monitor setup. But was unable to.

I don't believe this to be a hardware problem since the older version of the drivers supports the monitors as expected. The autocreate of the display group in the new drivers does not allow 2x2 and the custom config doesn't create the display group properly, still 1x4.

Yes, what you said is true. I did read that you mentioned in the older previous driver it did work probably. Plus if it is working with a 1x4 arrangement then it is a software issue since it is firing up all four monitors with that high resolution.

But I also know that GPU cards have limits to the type of resolutions and how many monitors it can support with certain resolutions which is why I posted that info in my reply.

But since you did mention it worked with the 2017 driver, I would suggest to open a Online AMD SERVICE REQUEST from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form  and see what they suggest.

The case I opened with AMD has confirmed that advanced settings are no longer available in the drivers past 2019. I suggest that if we as a community need this advanced Eyefinity feature that we voice our concerns to AMD to ensure that this feature is back in the drivers.
