No new Socket AM4 chipset on the maps, no 3rd generation Threadripper on the maps, supposed 16 core Ryzen 3000 series CPU outclasses many Threadripper processors in terms of core count, not to mention the performance improvements...Looks like I lucked out going for AM4 again after my first CPU died.
I assume you meant no new socket TR4 chipsets on the maps? But yeah, my X370 board and 1800X are plugging along just fine. In fact, I don't think I've ever had an AMD actually die on me.
My Bulldozer FX-8150 is running a friends computer right now. My Phenom II 940 DDR2 is running my parents primary PC without issues. I also build them a system to watch movies on a TV using an A8-3870k that is still running just fine.
My own living room PC for streaming media uses an A10-7850k that also still works great.
