Crash on GPU Rendering, slowing down Blender

Entering Preview or Rendering when GPU is activated crashes Blender immediately.

CPU alone works but is super slow.

Entering preview/render mode with CPU active then adding GPU doesn't crash blender but also doesn't speed up render times.

Starting up Blender takes drastically longer with ProRender as opposed to without it. Startup time is at about one minute. Working in Blender also shows loadtime spikes (>10 seconds unresponsiveness) when executing commands or saving a file like system info.

System:

GIGABYTE Aero 15" (AERO 15WV8), 16GB RAM

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2208 MHz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060

Driver Ver. 25.21.14.2531

Windows 10 64Bit

ProRender Version: 2.052

Also has an Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 installed - maybe Blender is using that one instead of the GTX?

Then again why is Cycles able to recognise the dedicated graphics.
