Advice on upgrading

Hello! Thank you for having me on this forum.

I just want a piece of advice on upgrading a system.

I want to switch to an AMD CPU and Am4 motherboard. My current video card is Radeon 570 4gb/256b.

I will upgrade my system with Ryzen 3000 series when it comes out. Should I go for 3600G APU with Navi integrated or 3600X and keep my current video card? What do you think?

I plan on using 32 GB Ram.

keep your video card and go with the 3600X

you dont need 32gb for gaming so far. 16gb 3200CL14 is the sweetspot in price AND performance for gaming // only buy more ram if you really use it!

PC: R7 2700X @PBO + RX 580 4G (1500MHz/2000MHz CL16) + 32G DDR4-3200CL14 + 144hz 1ms FS P + 75hz 1ms FS
Laptop: R5 2500U @30W + RX 560X (1400MHz/1500MHz) + 16G DDR4-2400CL16 + 120Hz 3ms FS

Thank you for your response!

I believe, too, 16GB is the sweetspot for gaming, but I will use my PC for video content creation, so 32 GB might help when working with huge files. Plus I like to be a bit future-proof.

I guess you are right about the choice between the APU and CPU so I will do just that.

Thank you again.
