Video wall using 4 viewsonic cdx4952 4k displays with an AMD Radeon Pro WX4100 display adapter.

I am attempting to create a 2 x 2 video wall using 4 viewsonic cdx4952 4k displays with an AMD Radeon Pro WX4100 display adapter. The ViewSonic displays allow for a daisy chain setup, so i have a single display connected to my adapter via a 4K capable mini-displayport to displayport cable, and then from that display's displayport out i connect another display and then from that monitors displayport out i connect another and so on. The adapter does see multiple displays, but, doesn't see 4, it only sees 2. Anyone else run into this issue before?

What Multi-Monitor software are you using?

If you are using AMD Eyefinity here is how to setup you wall display and resolutions: Setting Up and Configuring Multiple Displays to Run in AMD Eyefinity Mode .

This website explains how to properly daisychain three monitors and maximum resolutions for DP 1.2 MST.: [DisplayPort Quick Guide] Daisy Chaining 2 to 4 Monitors - The World's Best PC Builder

Copied from DisplayPort Quick Guide:

According to the graph only One monitor will support 4k with a DP 1.2 MST. but with 1920 x 1080 you can have up to 4 monitors connected.

Possibly if you have DP 1.4 you can have more monitors with higher resolutions. Here is the capabilities of DP 1.4 Bandwidth and resolutions: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/761112-displayport-14-hubs/

that's way too soon for specific ic to be made the spec was finalise and publish only 1years ago 1march 2016 (if i'm not mistaken)

EDIT: I'm trying to find the total capability of MTS on DP1.4 so see if it's even possible.

EDIT2: Since DP seems to no be a free nor open standard getting that info is proving difficult !!!

It's free to VESA members, which is every company who wants to implement it, but not to the general public.

DisplayPort 1.4 has 50% more bandwidth than DP 1.2.

The max on a single port is:

1× 2560×1440 at 240 Hz

1× 3840×2160 at 120 Hz

2× 2560×1440 at 120 Hz

2× 3840×2160 at 60 Hz

3× 1920×1080 at 144 Hz

3× 2560×1440 at 90 Hz

4× 1920×1080 at 120 Hz

4× 2560×1440 at 60 Hz

Assuming 24 bit/px RGB color, no compression, etc.

Note: Your GPU, MST and all Monitors must be able to support DP 1.4 .

According to your Viewsonic Manual, you can configure the DP on the Monitor from DP 1.1 or DP 1.2:  http://www.viewsonicglobal.com/public/products_download/user_guide/CD/CDX4952/CDX4952_UG_ENG.pdf?pas...

This is from the Viewsonic Manual from above link:

Seems like the DP ports on the Viewsonic are DP 1.2 so there isn't enough bandwidth to Daisychain 4 monitors at 4k only One Monitor at 4K.

I might be wrong, maybe some other User can verify or dispute my findings.
