I think I may have inadvertently joined a wrong forum site

BUT can anyone help me to get my audio back? I am on Windows 10 Home version 1803, and an AMD A8 Quad-core.

Are you having Realtek Audio cards installed in your system? Get the Realtek installed and then do the setting accordingly. Also, you need to have the required driver of the latest version too. You can get in on the official site of Realtek. You can also have a visit on the https://hpsupports.co/hp-customer-support/ for drivers and firmware of other peripherals which require the Windows 10 forum.

I don’t know a thing about computers. I have had a Microsoft level 2 technician trying to help me get my Dell Inspiron 5755 (Windows 10 Home, AMD A8 Quad-core) back to the state it was in when my audio problem first began. I’ve had no audio for weeks, and even these Microsoft Techs can’t figure out how to get it back. The red x is beside the speaker icon in the lower right taskbar. I don’t know what happened. I just opened the laptop one morning and the red x was there, and have had no audio since. It is supposed to have a Realtek High Definition Audio Device, and one of the “settings” dialog boxes says that ”this device is working properly”. I BEG TO DIFFER, you can get. Any ideas?
