My PCS MYST HD7870 runs at what i think is an extremely high temperature.
I haven't monitored my card until just recently after I noticed the can control behaving strangely.
The fan used to come on a couple of minutes after a game would start (EVE online, Star Trek online, minecraft), fan speed would be high then would slow down and run until the game was exited.
Recently I have noticed the fan come on run hard then slow down until it stopped. At this point i started monitoring the GPU using the Radeon Setting Software.
I have now found out the the GPU gets to 93degC before the fan comes on and then runs until the temp gets down to 72degC then the fan turns off.
I'm worried the card is going to overheat and be damaged.
Is there a way to set the GPU temp manually so the fan comes on at a lower temp and then adjust the speed of the fan to keep the temp constant.
