Hello,
my setup is:
Lenovo Legion Y520 15IBKA Laptop
i5 7300HQ
RX560 4GB GPU
Intel HD 630 onboard
Samsung 500GB SSD
Samsung 8GB RAM
Windows 10 64-bit
Adrenalin 18.5.1
All windows updates
Lenovo BIOS Update
No issues in device manager
Both graphic cards visible
Radeon setup: performance, worldoftanks.exe prioritised, set on high performance
My problem is that when I bought this laptop and installed World Of Tanks game stuttered around 20-30fps on maximum settings and the intel hd 630 was used.
I updated the AMD driver (back in March) driver and after a restart fps went up to stable 55fps, problem solved.
With the last world of tanks micropatch 1.0.1 and the windows April update fps went down to 40fps.
Switched off the Windows Xbox DVR mode, and updated to Adrenalin 18.5.1.
Since the driver update I have the same 20-30fps and the onbord graphic is used for world of tanks.
Has anyone experienced similar issues?
Lenovo service supported suggested to roll back to the last working driver, if you have a similar setup, what was the "best" working driver for world of tanks?
When it was working I could hear the GPU fans speeding up after starting the game and now it´s quiet so the gpu doesn´t respond to the game anymore.
BTW, I installed the WOT Core demo and it shows the right GPU, so the issue is the main application and something wrong with the driver.
Thank you for your help and many thanks in advance,
Daniel
I took a look at the new WoT, didn't like the changes, but if you havnt noticed, Windows Defender has changed along with Explore File Management.
If you still have your installer downloaded, or need to re-download it, after it hits your folder, Righ CLick Properties, and take a look at the bottom of the general page and see if its temporary BLOCKED. Click the new Unblock Files box that will now be present on anything Microsoft thinks it wont like, and click Apply /Save/Close or OK. Which ever you see
now
Head to Defender, regardless if you have other AV installed Defender now controls whats now called Exploit Protection. Found in the Apps Control of the Dashboard. This also control DEP Protection, oh ya so this will be needed to be done, they reworked that into the Exploits … Turn it all to Default Off and follow the Reboot Instructions it gives afterwards. DEP has been a big reason for lots of things, but never like this.
You are going to have to turn off all the memory protections, the new Ransomware Protection if enabled, and all the Memory crap they think a PC can handle regardless of the system its installed on. If you do have third-party AV installed, your going to have to uninstall it BEFORE touching Defender or its going to break.
Please mark this answered if this is solved. Hope this info helps, not everything is noticeable or announced, some things just have to be found.
